Is this course right for me?

This course is designed for the absolute beginner to woodcarving, who also wants to work without power tools. No prior experience is necessary.

NOTE: If you already have experience carving WITH power tools but are new to traditional carving, this course will not be a good fit. A great deal of the course will cover basics that may be redundant for someone with experience.

What does the course look like?

You can expect:
 
- 18-24 hours of in-person class time with the instructor (this is often across 3-4 days).
- Website resources to supplement the in-person classes (you will continue to have access after the course has finished).
- Lots of hands-on time with a variety of tools and materials.
- Small class size (max of 7) to ensure optimal feedback, safety and mentoring.

What is the cost?

The price for this course may change from time to time based on a variety of factors and expenses (such as length of course, offering the course through an institution VS offering it 'in-house', etc ).

However, this course often runs in the ballpark of $230 - $350 CAD.

Do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

All tools and materials will be supplied by the instructor.

However, you should bring a comfortable pair of clothes, some food and water.

Do I get to keep the tools?

Accepted Answer

No, the cost of purchasing tools is not included in the price.

If you are looking to purchase your own personal carving tools to use after the course and would like assistance, please let the instructor know ahead of time.
