EDDA
(Great Grandmother)
In every community, in every culture, it is the elders who are the knowledge-keepers.
The elders hold the wisdom and the memories of their people.
Of their experience.
My smallest mask, I carved with these thoughts in mind. The back is hollowed in such a way to fit a human head, and the eyes are spaced to allow sight with peripheral vision.
Quite literally a mask, this piece invited the wearer to see through the eyes of the elders.
